Luggage
|
PLEASE BE AWARE that Qantas has changed their checked in luggage allowance for economy travel and the maximum is 23kgs before they start charging extra at $10 per kilo!!! We have had a number of people caught by this new ruling so read your ticket carefully to know what weight you can carry. Be prepared for them to be strict. |
Soft sided bags are easier and safer to handle so please, no hard suitcases. To avoid injury it is essential that each piece of your luggage WEIGHS LESS THAN 12 KILOS. For everyone’s safety it is better to have two lighter bags than one heavy one. There is room under your seat in the vehicle for small handbags/camera bags. Luggage not required on the trip can be left at your hotel in Alice Springs.
Special equipment
On art trips, special equipment such as folios, painting boxes and easels can be carried as long as they are light and portable. Folios should not be larger than 100cms x 70cms. We supply painting stools, ground sheets, drawing boards and paint water bottles for you to take out into the field. We also have a selection of art equipment eg. easels you may borrow. On our travelling art trips there may have to be further luggage/equipment restrictions so please refer to specific trip notes.
Camping equipment
We provide all your camping equipment including: camp kitchen, tables and chairs, shade shelter, flush toilets and hot shower. The central camps are powered by solar energy and all the vehicles have facilities for recharging your 240 volt appliances. When we are in a camp for two weeks e.g. our art trips, you will have a tent to yourself which you can stand up in, a stretcher, mattress, high quality sleeping bag, pillow and freshly laundered bed linen. Your tent will be set up and packed up for you.
On our travelling art trips, tents are provided on a twin share basis, single supplements are an additional cost of $100. You will also have the opportunity to sleep out under the stars in swags. Single swags are provided and consist of a 5cm high density foam mattress, sleeping bag and pillow all encased in a waterproof canvas sheet. Sleeping sheets and pillowcases are supplied.
